Each year, Taste of Dublin is a highly-anticipated event in the food festival calendar. Food enthusiasts, restaurants, chefs, wine and drink connoisseurs, families – it is a festival for anyone who enjoys a taste of the best food and drink Ireland has to offer. After much speculation as to what this year’s event will hold for attendees, the line-up announcement did not disappoint and Taste seems to have taken new steps towards making the festival an all-encompassing event with the addition of new areas, more world class chefs on the line-up, stages for conversations around food, tastings and much, much more fun!
Thankfully, the weather seems to be on their side this year too with sunny days and high temperatures forecast over the weekend, which will no doubt mean a higher footfall as crowds flock to the picturesque Iveagh Gardens, off Harcourt Street in Dublin 2.
More than 30 chefs are taking part this year including stars such as Clodagh McKenna, Daniel Clifford, Darina Allen, Jean Christophe Novelli, Kevin Dundon, Nevin Maguire, MasterChef Ireland’s Robin Gill, Ross Lewis, Danni Barry, Sunil Ghai and others. The theme for the event this year is ‘Flavours of the World’, reflecting the increasing international influence on Irish cooking. Some of the restaurants providing mouth-watering food and drink to the attendees include:
- Deane’s EIPIC
- Greene’s Restaurant
- San Lorenzo’s
- King Sitric
- Matt the Thresher
- The Old Spot
- The Exchequer
- China Sichuan
- The Wild Goose Grill
- The Port House
- Suesey Street

Speaking at the launch of the event, Sunil Ghai commented, “I am always delighted to be a part of Taste of Dublin. This is my 11th year taking part, this time with my own restaurant, Pickle, as part of the OpenTable Daily Specials. It’s going to be really exciting!”
“Our menu for the Daily Special is Crispy Prawns with Dill Raita; Crispy Potato Chat from Delhi which is served with tamarind, mint and yoghurt and a lot of pomegranate seeds on top; goat on toast; and lastly a butter chicken with rice. All favourite dishes from Pickle!”
Feature experiences at Taste of Dublin will include, the hugely popular Electrolux “Make Life Delicious” cookery school; “Infusion” a new cocktail showcase from Barry’s Tea and the brand new “Food for Thought” area.
